Job Summary
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Year 5 and 6 SATs Tutor to support pupils as they prepare for their SATs. The ideal candidate will have teaching or tutoring experience, with the ability to engage and inspire children at upper Key Stage 2. Experience of working with pupils with additional needs would be an advantage. As a SATs Tutor, you will play an important role in building pupils’ confidence and helping them reach their academic targets through tailored support and encouragement.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition sessions focused on Year 5 and 6 pupils, preparing them for their SATs.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that follow the Key Stage 2 curriculum and meet the individual learning needs of pupils.
  • Assess progress regularly and adapt teaching methods to ensure pupils make the best possible progress.
  • Create a positive, supportive learning environment that boosts confidence and motivates pupils.
  • Provide clear feedback to parents or carers about pupil progress and areas for development.
  • Work alongside teachers and, where needed, other professionals to support pupils with additional learning needs.
  • Keep accurate records of lessons, attendance, and progress.

Skills and Qualities

  • Experience in tutoring or teaching, ideally within Key Stage 2.
  • Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and different teaching strategies.
  • Ability to adapt to a range of learning styles and needs, showing patience and flexibility.
  • Understanding of how to support pupils with special educational needs is desirable.
  • Clear and confident communication skills to engage pupils and keep parents informed.
  • A positive and encouraging approach to motivate pupils and develop a love for learning.

Pay: £40.00-£60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 4 per week
