Tampereen yliopiston kielikeskuksessa on haettavana yliopisto-opettajan tehtävä, opetusaineena englannin kieli.
Kielikeskus vastaa kaikkien yliopiston opiskelijoiden viestintä- ja kieliopintojen tarjonnasta. Kielikeskus tarjoaa opiskelijoille mahdollisuuden kehittää monipuolisesti akateemista viestintä- ja kielitaitoaan opintojen aikana sekä valmiuksia näiden taitojen jatkuvaan kehittämiseen muuttuvassa ja monikulttuurisessa maailmassa. Henkilöstöä on yhteensä noin 60. Opetuksen yhteisöllinen kehittäminen on toiminnassamme keskeistä.

The Language Centre at Tampere University is seeking a University Instructor of English.
The Language Centre is responsible for providing communication and language studies for all degree students at Tampere University. We offer students the opportunity to develop their academic communication and language skills in a versatile manner, preparing them for continuous development in a changing and multicultural world. The language centre has approximately 60 staff members, and the key focus of our activities is the collaborative development of teaching.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The University Instructor will teach English to students from different faculties, primarily on our campus in Hervanta. In addition to teaching and developing their own courses, our teachers participate in pedagogical development within their team and in the multilingual work community. The position requires on-campus presence.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate should have:

• A relevant master’s degree and strong teaching skills.Comprehensive pedagogical expertise evaluated on the basis of pedagogical studies (such as university pedagogy or subject teacher pedagogy) and teaching experience (CEFR levels B2
• C1).
• Excellent spoken and written English proficiency.

We particularly value candidates who can develop teaching using a research-based, innovative, and student-centred approach. Additional advantages include teaching experience at a university language centre and familiarity with the Finnish higher education environment. Knowledge and experience in using AI applications in English language teaching and learning is considered an asset.
We expect candidates to demonstrate a commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn new skills. Strong teamwork skills and enthusiasm for collaborative work are essential.
