Responsibilities

THE ROLE

The Y’s Girls programme offers a range of support for girls aged 9-14 to support them to thrive. The programme has developed from our learning of delivering successful group work and one2one interventions bringing together the most impactful interventions Y’s Girls has been expanded and redesigned with a new format which will be rolled out from September 2026. The new format comprises of three key parts: Group work in schools and youth settings, Y’s Mentoring matching girls with trained volunteer mentors working together to improve their short and long-term mental health and wellbeing and Targeted Mentoring offering targeted interventions to address risk factors.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Group work planning and delivery, working with local schools and youth groups to identify young people with risk factors who would benefit from a group work programme of support.
  • Mentoring: working with a caseload of approx. 4-5 young people at any time you will play a key role with professional partners in the identification, referral and monitoring of young people and provide targeted mentoring interventions to address their risk factors including providing advocacy support for the young person and family support / signposting as and when needed
  • Ongoing recruitment, training and support for a team of 5-6 volunteer mentors to deliver the Y’s Mentoring Programme.
