About the Job
The YMCA Reston is looking for a caring, helpful, and enthusiastic team player to join our Child Watch team. The Child Watch Attendant supervises children in the YMCA Child Watch Program. The attendant is responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable childcare for members and their children.

Some of the exciting tasks you will do as a Child Watch Attendant include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain visual and auditory supervision at all times
  • Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child under their supervision and maintain a creative and playful atmosphere for all participants
  • Plan and supervise activities for the children
  • Plays and interacts with the children while they are in your care
  • Changes diapers when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Experience in childwatch preferred
  • Clear the local jurisdiction requirements for criminal background and/or fingerprinting
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with children and parents
  • Must understand and be committed to working with diverse population and to YMCA character development
