Position Summary: We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and certified Group Exercise Instructor to lead high-quality group fitness classes within YMCA guidelines. This individual will serve as a motivator, educator, and leader, working with individuals and groups to foster a supportive and inclusive fitness environment. Responsibilities: Lead safe, effective, and engaging group exercise classes. Demonstrate and clearly explain proper techniques and form. Provide individual feedback and modifications during class. Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled classes. Maintain accurate attendance records and class logs. Ensure all equipment is set up before and cleaned/stored after class. Understand and follow emergency procedures. Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and instructor workshops. Secure qualified substitutes in advance when needed. Promote YMCA programs and events to members. Adhere to all YMCA group exercise policies and uphold the YMCA’s mission. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED (required) Must be 18 years or older Current CPR and AED certification (required) Nationally recognized group exercise certification (e.g., ACE, AFAA, NASM) Specialty certifications (preferred): Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Spin, Les Mills, CrossFit, Barre, Martial Arts, etc. Outgoing personality with a strong interest in helping others reach their fitness goals Must pass a criminal background check Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends Physical Requirements: Regularly required to stand, move, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform physically active instruction Must be able to demonstrate exercises and movements as part of the class Reasonable accommodations will be made for qualified individuals with disabilities Why Join the YMCA?
