Department: San Fernando Pastoral Region Status: Non - Exempt, Part Time POSITION SUMMARY The Coordinator of Young Adult faith formation is responsible for promoting effective young adult ministry in the San Fernando Region. This includes coordinating, directing, organizing, leadership meetings, activities and networking and providing support to Young Adult Ministry leaders in the parishes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS All Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, and they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work. * Act as liaison between regional office and young adult ministries throughout the region. * Meet monthly with Young Adult ministry leaders (Spanish & English), create meeting agendas, take minutes and share the information with the regional office. * Collect flyers for parish Young Adult events to help promote within the region. * Coordinate regional events (3 to 4 a year) sponsored by the regional office. * Keep accurate and up to date contact information for parish ministry leaders. * Connect with deanery representatives on a weekly basis to check in and get updates on what is happening within each parish ministry and deanery updates. * Help with Regional Office Young Adult ministry social media. * Keep an updated and central/master calendar for all Young Adult Ministry events throughout the region. * Work 4 hours per week at the San Fernando Regional office. * Other duties as assigned or needed by the Regional Office Qualifications MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS Education and Experience Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities, typically: * Active member of a Roman Catholic faith community. * 3-5 years’ experience as a leader in a Young Adult Ministry at a parish. * Program development experience. * Proficient in Google Suite and MS Office. * Experience with Instagram and website updates and Post * Must know how to create and maintain Google Calendar * Knowledge of Flock note and Outlook Groups Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of: * Program planning, development, and organization. * Public speaking, group facilitation and teaching methodology. * Professional use of social media and technology. * The multi-cultural nature of ministry in the archdiocese. Skill in: * Pastoral application of Church teaching. * Communicate effectively in written and oral form. * Must be bilingual – English and Spanish * Use of current office software including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and databases. Ability to: * Exercise personal initiative while collaborating with a team. * Utilize a collaborative leadership style to facilitate the development of leadership. Physical and Environmental Requirements * Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. * Sit for sustained periods of time on a daily basis. * Perform tasks requiring intermittent bending, stooping, and walking. * Sustain frequent movement of the fingers, wrists, hands, and arms.
