Description

American Association of Caregiving Youth®
Job Description – Youth Activities Manager
About This Role
Did you know there are hundreds of thousands of middle and high school students in Florida and millions across the U.S. who balance school while providing care for a family member with an illness, disability, or age-related condition?
Founded in 1998 in Boca Raton, FL, the American Association of Caregiving Youth (AACY) is the only nonprofit in the U.S. dedicated solely to recognizing and supporting these incredible young people.
Through our Caregiving Youth Project (CYP), we serve more than 650 students across 44 middle and high schools in Palm Beach County, providing free tutoring, mentoring, respite activities, and connections to resources that make life a little easier for them and their families.
The Youth Activities Manager plays a key role in helping Caregiving Youth succeed in school, take part in meaningful activities, and connect with peers who understand their experiences. This role also uses recreation, creative expression, and skill-building activities to help students cope with stress, gain confidence, and enjoy a needed break from their responsibilities.
Purpose of Position
To recognize, support, and engage Caregiving Youth through the planning and delivery of educational, recreational, and social respite activities that also strengthen coping skills and emotional well-being. This role builds connections among students, families, schools, and community partners while fostering program growth and greater awareness of the Caregiving Youth population.
Reports to: Caregiving Youth Project (CYP) Director
