Description Job Title: Tutor Location: Paradise Valley Country Club Reports To: Youth Activities Manager Position: On-Call FLSA: Non-exempt Job Summary Our youth activities program seeks talented, experienced tutor in all subject areas for participants between grades levels K–12. Tutors will work with participants one-on-one and/or group setting. They will also be responsible for the general safety and development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants in his/her group. Essential Functions Help participants with homework and other school assignments with patience and expertise. Ask participants about specific topics or subjects areas that are giving them trouble. Communicate with parents/guardians about trouble areas or any other issue that requires attention. Be responsible for maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of each program area used. Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the camp program. Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with all program areas. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for your participants’ safety and their whereabouts at all times. If there are Camp Counselor Shifts available, they may be offered to work. Requirements Required Education/Experience · 1-2 years of experience tutoring children and teenagers. · Ability to develop positive rapport with participants. · Excellent communication skills · CPR certification preferred. · Proven track record of superior organization and multi-tasking. · Excellent interpersonal skills. · Must be able to participate in potentially strenuous physical activity. · Demonstrated skills in conflict mediation Required Skills · Ability to work with members, children, and staff effectively · Supervisory/Organizational skills · Time Management · Must practice safety at all times
