Pay Rate: $20 per hour
Hours: 20 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of youth ages 13 to 25 through technology and media arts activities, BGC Albion is the place for you! Reporting to the Program Manager and Program Coordinator, the ideal candidate will possess considerable experience in Media Arts, Media Literacy programs for youth. The main goal of the program is to equip youth with skills to express themselves in meaningful ways using media technology and to expose youth to viable careers in the arts.

QUALIFICATION:

• Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Worker/Social Service Work/Arts Education or related media arts field.
• Experience in delivering instructional activities related to media
• 1-3 years front line experience working with youth with some experience in program designing, creative thinking skills and youth supervision
• Experience in conflict resolution and crisis intervention/adapting to program needs
• Excellent judgment and decision making with a strong sense of professional boundaries
• Must be able to work evenings (3pm until 8 pm), some flexibility may be required for weekdays and weekends
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and familiar with social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).

• Police clearance letter (VSC) and First Aid/CPR is required.

1. Program Engagement

• Plan and deliver media arts program for young people ages 13-25
• Experience working in a diverse community with hands on youth engagement
• Experience with media arts including but not limited to photography, videography, visual arts
• Develop and deliver a variety of in-person arts-based programs, including visual arts, performing arts, and multimedia
• Encourage and support youth in developing their artistic skills and expressing themselves
• Supervise and provide ongoing leadership in programming space.
• Maintaining program software, tools and equipment related to program usage

1. Content Creation

• Develop engaging and compelling content for various marketing channels including social media, email newsletters, press releases, and registration/outreach platforms.
• Manage social media accounts to promote arts programs and engage with the community, including creating and sharing content, responding to inquiries, and monitoring engagement.
• Create promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, and signage to effectively communicate event details and enhance guest experience.
• Collaborate with children, youth and staff for the creation of content.
• Assist on special projects media production (i.e Annual General Meeting, Gala, Black History Month)
• Actively expand outreach initiatives and youth engagement

• Work closely in a collaborative team setting, engaging with staff, volunteers, and management to bring the event vision to life.
• Facilitate effective communication and coordination among team members to ensure all aspects of the event are executed smoothly and in alignment with the overall goals.
