Summary The ideal candidate should have a friendly and positive attitude, be able to enthusiastically deliver programming while enforcing rules and modeling positive behaviors and maintaining a safe environment. A successful candidate must be knowledgeable of children and youth programs and be able to execute successful child and teen programs, youth-oriented special events and camps activities. The ideal candidate must create, organize and lead activities for large groups of children. This individual shall ensure we implement best practices for health and safety, set up an effective childcare environment, and maintain company standards. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, this position requires night, weekend and holiday hours.  Essential Functions Job duties include, although are not limited to: * Lead, host and participate in supervised youth, teen and family programs to create meaningful and memorable experiences.  The primary age group for activities is 4-12 years old. * Organizing games such as soccer, volleyball, ping pong and water sports, explaining the rules and acting as referee or umpire throughout the game. Swimming will be required daily. * Research and development of activity programs such as art and crafts, passive/active games, STEM projects, trivia and themed activities. * Work as a member of a team and accomplish tasks with little direct supervision. * Ensures children are aware of rules, and daily scheduled routines and programs. * Responsible for the care, maintenance, and inventory of all equipment used. * Communicating with parents, providing updates where required and answering questions about the program. * Be aware of children with special accommodations such as medical conditions, behavioral concerns and allergies. * Providing guidance, motivation and support to all children and youth. * Ensure and maintain a physically and emotionally safe and secure environment for youth to participate. * Monitor use of the facility and address and/or report potential hazards. * Know, follow and enforce all company policies and procedures. * Performs related duties as required/assigned by the Director of Youth and Family Programs and the Director of Recreation.  Internal Relationships  Reports to the Director of Youth and Family Programming and Youth Program Supervisor as required.   The Youth Recreation Attendant works with the F&B, Culinary, Banquets, Marketing, Member Relations, Stewarding and Guest Experience Center as well as various members of the ownership team. External Relationships Has regular contact with vendors, hosts, music acts, hired entertainment.  Maintains appropriate relationships with our club members and resort guests.   Qualifications * The ideal candidate will have 2+ years experience in coaching, camps, youth programs, recreation or related field. * Must be able to run, jump, swim and otherwise engage the children in strenuous activities that are age-appropriate for them. * Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. * Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. * Must possess moderate computer skills. * First Aid and CPR certified.   Education/Experience Requirements  * Must have a high school diploma or GED. * A minimum of two years experience in a similar position.  Physical Requirements Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
