Description Nexus Family Healing is looking to hire a 2nd shift Youth Care Professional to join our newest youth crisis and stabilization center set to open in fall 2025 in Hennepin County! This new youth crisis and stabilization center is a 13-bed, short-term residential service is for Hennepin County youth with complex mental and behavioral health issues looking for appropriate care. The service will help to reduce the number of youth who are stuck in inappropriate care settings such as emergency rooms, police stations, juvenile detention or unstable home situations and provide treatment and therapeutic supports while triage, assessment, and transition planning take place with families. As a Youth Care Professional, you will: Support and reinforce the therapeutic plan of clients by providing guidance and direction to residents in their daily living activities Provide mentorship and supervision of resident daily activities and behavior according to established guidelines and procedures Participate with coworkers as a team on implementation of treatment plans and therapeutic services Remain cognizant of individual client phases, privileges, restrictions and adapt interactions accordingly Ensure resident safety and collaborate with coworkers to maintain an environment that is positive, respectful, clean and therapeutic Work effectively with clients’ families/support networks to reinforce positive family partnerships; Follows established protocols in the use of family engagement and involvement techniques Plan and participate in off-campus resident activities and assist in the transportation of clients to home visits, doctor appointments, planned recreational activities Requirements We welcome individuals from all backgrounds, identities, and cultures to bring their unique perspectives to our work. Required Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Nexus Family Healing driving requirements Must have the ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals or communities and understand their unique needs and challenges. Must be open to meeting the cultural needs of individuals or communities, considering factors such as language, traditions, and values. To qualify, candidates must meet one of the following: 30+ college credits in behavioral sciences + supervised related experience or practicum/internship 2,000–4,000 hours of supervised related experience with mental health populations + required training Currently enrolled in a behavioral sciences graduate program with assigned clinical training Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in behavioral sciences + practicum/internship Physical Demands Must be able to assist staff in physical interventions and restraints of clients Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (2-4 hours) Must be able to twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive to the execution of daily activities within a residential treatment facility At Nexus Family Healing, our voices and actions are focused on recognizing, affirming and respecting people of every race, ethnic background, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, gender expression and faith.
