Methodist Home for Children is seeking a full-time Youth Care Worker for its Transitional Living Home in New Bern, NC. Salary: $15.00+ depending on education and experience. FIRST THINGS FIRST... WHAT IS A TRANSITIONAL LIVING HOME? These group homes serve teens who are on probation but cannot return home safely from a youth development center or other residential placement. Referred by juvenile court counselors, they stay for six to 12 months, working to finish school, identify career goals, get a job, volunteer, earn a driver’s license, and learn to budget, cook and manage bills. ---------------------------------------- WHAT DO YOUTH CARE WORKERS DO? The primary responsibility of Youth Care Worker is to provide program services to intervene with adolescents being served in the residential group home.
