Description Youth Club 1 Coach — Role Overview A Youth Club 1 Coach supports the Head Coach in delivering the Momentum Climbing Youth Program curriculum, helping create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment for all participants. Duties & Responsibilities Coach on the days agreed upon at the time of hire (availability for multiple days per week is preferred) Actively engage with and instruct participants ages 12–18, following the daily lesson plan Become familiar with each participant’s skill level, learning style, and individual needs Communicate professionally with parents before and after practices as needed Enforce Momentum policies and safety standards in a friendly, patient, and respectful manner Develop a working knowledge of Momentum’s programs, services, and products Maintain a responsible and well-managed climbing environment by recognizing and addressing hazards, enforcing proper climbing practices, and communicating concerns clearly with both participants and fellow coaches. Compensation & Benefits Momentum staff membership with a complimentary gym membership Opportunities to develop and strengthen teaching, coaching, and facilitation skills Access to outdoor industry pro-deals after 90 days of employment Flat rate per practice, to be discussed upon hire Requirements Minimum of two years of consistent climbing experience with strong knowledge of climbing techniques and terminology, including bouldering, top-rope, and lead climbing/belaying (must comfortably climb at least 5.10 indoors and outdoors) Ability to work effectively with large groups of children in an active, dynamic environment Experience in coaching, programming, or facilitation is a plus, but not required Demonstrated ability to prioritize participant safety, engagement, and well-being at all times Current First Aid/CPR certification or WFA/WFR preferred, but not required Must be at least 23 years of age
