About the role In this role, you will work collaboratively with your team and a variety of stakeholders to deliver a range of evidence based and youth informed programs that empower young people and respond to community needs. You’ll champion youth voice by creating meaningful opportunities for participation and leadership, ensuring young people help shape the policies, services and decisions that impact them. Working in partnership with families, schools, service providers, and community organisations, you will drive initiatives that promote inclusion, enhance health and wellbeing, and create positive outcomes for young people. Work type: Permanent Full Time (commencing from 1 July 2026) Classification: Band 6 $95,760 pa plus super Key responsibilities include: * Design, deliver and evaluate evidence-based youth programs and initiatives that build leadership, promote health and wellbeing, and respond to the diverse needs of young people across school and community settings. * Build and maintain strong partnerships with young people, families, schools, community organisations and internal stakeholders, providing expert advice, facilitating collaboration and embedding best practice and innovation. * Undertake research and analysis to produce high quality reports, briefings and presentations and prepare grant applications to secure funding to support priority projects and services. * Plan and manage projects, budget and work programs, contribute to a positive and high-performing team culture, and support continuous improvement to achieve unit and organisational objectives. About you To be successful in this role, you will have experience delivering programs and initiatives that focus on the needs of young people and the broader community. You will have demonstrated skills in co‑design and a strong understanding of community development principles to plan, deliver and evaluate youth development programs that align with the needs and priorities of young people. * Experience in the development and implementation of community development and/or youth programs. * Sound knowledge of youth participation and engagement frameworks and a strong understanding of research principles and methodologies. * Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to build relationships with people from all backgrounds, supported by an understanding of culturally sensitive and informed practice with youth communities. * Relevant qualification in Community Development, Social Work, Youth Work, Social Sciences or related field and/or significant relevant professional experience in a comparable organisation. * Valid Working with Children Check and Victorian Drivers Licence Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
