POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a passionate and motivated part-time (21 hours a week) Counsellor to join our team. This role will focus on providing single session counselling services to youth in Stayner, Alliston and Barrie.
Your responsibilities will include completing clinical documentation, facilitating internal and external referrals as needed, and ensuring the implementation of client outcome measures. In addition, you’ll be involved in supporting our YouthCALL initiative, advocating for the needs of young individuals, and shaping our programs to address their unique perspectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor required in a related discipline (e.g., Counselling, Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology)
  • Experience providing single-session counselling or counselling within a brief clinical delivery framework is an asset
  • Effective clinical formulation and intervention skills with commitment to best-practice standards, and a strength-based and anti-oppressive approach
  • Strong knowledge of various individual interventions (e.g., Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy)
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability to work both as a member of a team as well as independently.
  • Accurate and timely documentation, meeting professional/organizational standards
  • Must be highly organized and have consistent habits in regard to client scheduling, completion of clinical documentation, and completion and submission of required human resources documentation
  • Ability to provide services in a second language (in addition to English) is an asset
  • Must be able to work two evenings per week (Tuesdays & Wednesdays, 12-8pm)
  • Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to reliable vehicle; travel is required
