SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work and volunteer experience
  • Experience working with children
  • Knowledge of youth development
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
  • Ability to deal with the general public
  • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth
  • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
  • Ability to manage oneself in a positive, productive, and professional way
  • Ability to follow and model policies and procedures
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid certification (Club will provide training, if needed)
  • Valid State Driver’s License

Responsibilities

Prepare Youth for Success:

  • Creates a positive Club environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes
  • Promotes and stimulates program participation
  • Provides a wide-range of skill-building opportunities
  • Provides guidance, mentorship, and role modeling to members

Program Development and Implementation:

  • Plans, prepares, and implements high-quality programs, services, and activities for drop-in members
  • Supervises and evaluates programs, services, and activities to ensure the safety of members, enrichment, and quality in programs
  • Develops and maintains the appearance, safety, and design of program spaces
  • Participates in ongoing staff development and training activities
  • Prepares periodic activity reports

Supervision:

  • Ensures a safe environment by carefully maintaining facilities, equipment, and supplies
  • Ensures safe, fun, and engaging participation of members by way of supervision, promotion of positive behavior and interactions, proactive redirection, and conflict resolution
  • Ensures a productive work environment by participating in weekly staff meetings.
