Support Workers Wanted – Help People Live Life Their Way

At My Choice Disability Support, we believe great support does more than complete a shift—it changes lives.

We're not simply looking for Support Workers.

We're looking for rare people with heart, creativity and gusto. People who genuinely care, celebrate the small wins, build meaningful relationships, and want to help participants create positive memories while living life on their own terms.

Every participant is different and wonderful in their own way. Some people may require encouragement and companionship, while others have complex support needs or behaviours of concern that require patience, confidence, consistency and creative problem-solving.

No two days—and no two participants—are ever the same.

If one communication approach isn't working, we need Support Workers who are willing to stop, think differently and try another way. We are looking for people who bring positivity to every shift, think outside the box, and create meaningful opportunities that help participants enjoy life, build confidence and achieve their goals.

Whether you're an experienced Support Worker, studying Community Services, returning to the workforce, or have lived experience that provides a unique understanding of disability, we'd love to hear from you.

What Will You Be Doing?

Every day is different, and that's what makes this role so rewarding.

You might be:

• Supporting participants to attend appointments, community activities and social outings.
• Helping someone build confidence by ordering a coffee independently or learning a new life skill.
• Encouraging fitness, wellbeing and healthy routines.
• Assisting with shopping, cooking and everyday living skills.
• Supporting participants to engage in hobbies, interests and activities they genuinely enjoy.
• Facilitating activities through our Sisterhood and Sociable Society programs.
• Creating fun, engaging and meaningful community access shifts.
• Building community connections and reducing social isolation.
• Supporting participants with emotional regulation and behaviours of concern using positive, person-centred approaches.
• Adapting your communication style to suit each participant's individual needs.
• Encouraging participants to achieve personal goals and increase independence.
• Creating positive experiences and lasting memories that participants look forward to.

Essential Requirements

• Current Driver's Licence.
• Reliable and insured vehicle.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
• First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willingness to complete).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
