Description Description Position Title: Workforce Youth Driver Department: Workforce Development Primary Location: McKenzie Regional Workforce 5215 Verona Road, Fitchburg, WI 53711 Reports To: Sr. Director of Workforce Development Position Level: Individual Contributor Direct Service Position: Yes Exemption Status: Nonexempt (Hourly) Hourly rate: $20.20 Shift: Initial schedule 5pm-9:30pm. Schedule is subject to change, based upon MMSD Schedule to meet the needs of our youth in programming. POSITION SUMMARY & OVERALL OBJECTIVES The Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County is looking for a Youth Driver for our Skilled Trades programs! The Youth Driver provides safe and efficient transportation for youth (ages 12-18). This position assists in meeting staff-to-child ratios and performs administrative duties as assigned when not transporting youth. This position may require early morning, evening and/or weekend hours. The individual must be able to work with minimal supervision and take initiative. The Youth Driver is also expected to be flexible and adaptable, taking on other duties assigned to support the overall objectives of the organization. This position is part-time, non-exempt, and is not eligible for benefits. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The fundamental, crucial job duties; the functions the position exists to perform. Uphold safety by ensuring Club vehicles are appropriately maintained and fueled Report maintenance issues immediately Provide sight and sound supervision to members at all times Apply appropriate positive guidance and discipline techniques Be aware of member attendance and tracking procedures at all times Ensure Club vehicles are clear of clutter and in sanitary conditions Observe all state of WI rules of the road and passenger safety regulations at all times Ensure a productive work environment by engaging in professional behavior Participate in Club staff meetings by maintaining communication with supervisors Attend training and staff development sessions as scheduled, up to 25 hours per year Maintain a strong work ethic May collaborate with volunteers and partner programs Assist Youth Coordinators in supervising members while not transporting children Abstain from phone usage while supervising and/or transporting members. Complete appropriate reporting according to organization and grant requirements. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES May be required to participate in special programs and/or events Occasional night, weekend hours and/or early morning hours Report all incidents involving Club vehicles immediately Report all traffic violations/citations immediately Other duties as assigned RELATIONSHIPS Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional, volunteer, and partner programs), Club members, and supervisor to receive and/or provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines and instructions. External: Follows all policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook regarding professional behavior. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Strong communication skills The ability to work independently and in a team setting WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and policy manuals. The ability to clearly and concisely exchange/receive ideas, facts and or technical information with others. Ability to visually monitor activities of club members. The employee is required to be able to perform CPR or first aid. The employee is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, jump, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is required to operate a motor vehicle. The employee is often required to sit. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Working environment: McKenzie Regional Workforce Center Requirements Successful completion of drug screening, motor vehicle check and background check (must pass to work for BGCDC) EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma/HSED/GED preferred Minimum of 1 year driving experience At least 21 years of age with a valid driver license and an approved driving record REQUIRED HOURS Typical working hours, including required holidays and travel. This is a part time, non-exempt position. 5:00pm-9:30pm initial shift. Schedule based on MMSD School Schedule. Requirements Requirements Education and Experience The required minimum allowable education and experience, based on job-related requirements. Include licensing and certifications if applicable.High School Diploma/HSED/GED preferred.Minimum of 1 year driving experience At least 21 years of age with a valid driver license ( NO Probationary License) and clean driving record (no more than 1 moving violation)Required Work Hours: 5:00-9:30pm Monday-Thursday. Schedule subject to change based upon MMSD schedule.
