POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Youth Education Professional REPORTS TO: Club Director or Program Director STATUS: Part-time, non-exempt 10-20 hours per week (this job can be shared equaling 20 hours) CLUB POSITION JOB SUMMARY: Implements activities provided within a specific program area, with a primary focus on Academic Success. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of the Academic Success Outcome, including Power Hour & Moby Max Implementation. Assume the role & responsibilities of Youth Development Staff as needed. Promote and stimulate program participation. Provide guidance and role modeling to members. May be asked to participate in organization wide events in the Club. May participate in special programs and/or events. Participate in required professional development & training. Collaborate with leadership team as required. QUALIFICATIONS Required: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, or Certification preferred, or working toward degree in related field Knowledge of computers at beginning level of Microsoft Office Excellent communication skills Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment Must pass a background check, fingerprint, and physical examination Preferred: Knowledge of youth development 1 to 2 years of experience working with children and/or youth CPR and First Aid Certifications PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to stand, sit, walk on uneven surfaces, climb stairs, and use hands and arms to handle objects or reach. Duties may also involve balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, tasting, or smelling. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Exposure to varying weather conditions may occur, and the noise level in the work environment typically ranges from minimal to moderate.
