Job Title: Youth Engagement Coordinator
Reporting To: Community Learning and Development Manager
Contractual Status: Fixed term contract to 30th June 2026
Working Pattern: 35 hours per week over 5 days, between the hours of 8.30am – 9pm
Salary: £28,000.00 - £32,000.00 per annum
Annual Leave Entitlement: 25 days, plus 9 public holidays, plus 3 days for Christmas shutdown

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

We have an exciting opportunity for a Youth Engagement Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Community Learning and Development Manager, you will work towards increasing opportunities for individuals, groups, and families to access appropriate services aimed at increasing community interaction and cohesion, supporting the most disadvantaged members of the community to reach their potential. You will understand the social impact of effective interventions, strategies, and policies aimed at supporting the development of communities.

As part of your role, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of funding applications and reports for all funders supporting FARE Scotland’s health and wellbeing programmes as appropriate.
  • Ensuring the collection and collation of statistics as required to ensure continued funding and for progress reports to Board of Trustees and various funding sources.
  • Working closely with the Community Learning & Development Manager to develop, promote, and organise health and wellbeing services and progress existing community provision where appropriate, in line with FARE Scotland’s development plans.
  • Supporting the development of an educational curriculum that serves to enhance the community’s understanding of local issues and the challenges being faced in society.
  • Working in line with national policies and guidance, focussing on placing children, young people and families at the centre.
  • Identifying community skills, assets, issues, and needs that can enhance and inform future practice within the team and FARE Scotland, as a whole.
  • Enhancing the ability of local people of all ages to have their say in relation to the community and the services available to them.
  • Developing and building partnership links with other groups and agencies.
  • Raising public awareness on issues relevant to the community, challenging negative stereotypes that exist within the areas of operation.
  • Liaising with interested groups and individuals to set up new services.
  • Supporting the recruitment and training of team members and volunteers.
  • Planning, attending, and coordinating meetings and events.
  • Delivering the FARE Scotland StreetwYze programme within secondary schools, ensuring it remains underpinned by the principles and values of Curriculum for Excellence and other national policies and guidelines.
  • Delivering group work sessions within communities.
  • Supporting the management of budgets and the financial planning required within the team.
  • Challenging inappropriate behaviour, opinions and values by fostering an inclusive and respectful learning environment for all.
  • Undertaking general administrative duties.
