Description:
Position Summary: The Youth Engagement Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the youth leadership and mentorship components of the NextGen Safe program. This role involves planning and coordinating activities, managing mentorship initiatives, and ensuring the program aligns with its goals of reducing gun and gang violence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education in social work, community development, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience in youth engagement and mentorship coordination.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong facilitation and public speaking abilities.
- Familiarity with issues affecting at-risk youth and rural communities.
- Able to work as a contributing member of a team both within and outside the organization.
- Able to work flexible hours and respond as needed.
- Must have strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspaces, database management, communication technologies, and a willingness to adapt to new technologies for remote service delivery and data security.

- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract.
- Standard First Aid.
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention, Suicide Awareness Training, and commitment to attend other relevant continuing education opportunities.
