If so, please consider applying for the Youth Instructor position and joining our Youth & Teen team at the Boroughs Family Branch YMCA! The Youth Instructor at the YMCA of Central Massachusetts creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while promoting and maintaining safe conditions in the gym, multi-purpose room and surrounding areas in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Essential Functions: Accept and demonstrate the positive values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. Attend and participate in staff trainings and meetings. Maintain the Sports Closet in an orderly fashion Set curriculum and run the youth and preschool classes. Observe and enforce all safety regulations. Learn the likes and dislikes of participants. Recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving. Provide opportunities for the group so that each individual experiences success during their classes Help each participant meet the goals they established Administer first-aid and/or CPR as necessary. Evaluate current session and make suggestions for following sessions. Support the mission of the YMCA of Central Massachusetts. These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required. Qualifications: Current CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications Ability to assist in teaching an activity Ability to relate to one’s peer group Good character, integrity, and adaptability Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control High School student or equivalent and at least 16 years of age Schedule: 25hrs/week Varies; mornings, evenings, weekends--let us know your availability! Job Type: Part-Time Pay: $15.00 per hour.
