POSITION SUMMARY

As a Youth Leader at Hollyburn Country Club, you are at the heart of creating memorable and engaging experiences for children aged 5-11. This role combines active supervision, interactive play, and positive role modeling to foster a safe, fun, and welcoming environment. You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy building connections with children, supporting Club events, and ensuring every participant feels valued and included. Your dedication to safety, communication, and teamwork will ensure each child’s experience is positive and enriching.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
  • Previous experience working with children ages 5 and above (minimum 1 year preferred).
  • Passionate about working with children and fostering a positive environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with children and their guardians.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to engage with children effectively while remaining courteous and professional.
  • Ability to take initiative, problem-solve under pressure, and work without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrates strong teamwork skills and a collaborative attitude.
  • Must adhere to the Club’s dress code policy.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications are an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and actively engage with children aged 5-11 during open play and scheduled activities.
  • Facilitate safe, organized, and enjoyable play experiences.
  • Ensure the environment is welcoming, inclusive, and positive for all participants.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness to ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
  • Supervise and maintain equipment, including inflatables like the bouncy castle, ensuring proper use and safety.
  • Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to engage with participants.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and fulfill scheduled shifts as assigned.
  • Promptly report and document any incidents, concerns, or injuries to the Youth Coordinator.
  • Assist with term programs such as soccer, dance, baking, and camps.
  • Support Club events by participating in setup, supervision, and engagement with families.
  • Foster open communication with team members and the Youth Coordinator to ensure smooth program execution.
  • Encourage positive behavior through role modeling, reinforcement, and proactive engagement.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as attendance tracking and equipment inventory as needed.
