QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY Gainesville, Florida   YOUTH MINISTER   Reports to: Pastor / Parish Administrator Full Time FLSA: Hourly Non-Exempt   POSITION SUMMARY Queen of Peace Catholic Parish, a Total Stewardship Community, located in Gainesville, FL, is seeking a Youth Minster to continue and grow its Youth Ministry program. The Youth Minister, in collaboration with our faith formation team, will be involved in coordinating and developing a multi-dimensional ministry with our youth, ensuring that all youth activities are rooted in solid catechesis. The role is responsible for developing a dynamic, integrated youth ministry and nurturing its spiritual development, fellowship, worship, service, and mission and providing friendship, encouragement, counsel, leadership, support, and FUN events for our youth and their families.   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Plan, develop, and implement, with the parish CRE, a comprehensive program for our youth that includes religious education and sacramental preparation. * Collaborate with the Queen of Peace Academy to meet the spiritual needs of our students. * Recruit, train, and coordinate adult volunteers, ensuring compliance with Safe Environment requirements for background clearance and attendance of PGC workshop. * Schedule, publicize, and promote youth activities, including but not limited to service projects, social events, and retreats. * Encourage spiritual growth and faith development in others. * Compassion when working with families and youth. * Attend staff meetings and work with the church staff to benefit all. * Familiarity with pastoral Spanish would be helpful.   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited Catholic college or university with a degree in theology, pastoral ministry, or religious education, or another related degree, with a willingness to pursue further formation in the Catholic faith. * Must be a Catholic in good standing who models Gospel values, has an engaged spirituality, and actively participates in parish life. * Prior experience in Youth Ministry is preferred. * Ability to work with and respect people of different backgrounds. * Evenings and weekends * Excellent communication skills   LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, employees, and the public.   MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.   REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Responsibilities
