Are you looking to be a part of something BIG that positively affects your community?  What you will do:  The Youth Outreach Specialist will support academic and outreach efforts at Goodwill Youth Reengagement Centers. The primary role of the Youth Outreach Specialist will be to reconnect youth 12-24 who are disconnected from services and resources; keep academic curricula up-to-date; serve as on site mentor and assist youth enrolling in Grad Solutions; engage in community outreach, resource development and networking activities. The Youth Outreach Specialist will ensure compliance with accepted standards, federal/state requirements, and Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona’s policies and procedures. Duties & Responsibilities: 1. *Demonstrate company’s values at all times 2. *Coordinate and implement academic services throughout Goodwill youth reengagement centers, including individualized academic plans, weekly tutoring, basic literacy/numeracy gains assistance, education interventions, academic case management, etc. 3. *Provide positive reinforcement for the youth’s progress, problem solve issues or concerns, and update the youth’s academic plan to reflect progress and goals 4. *Maintain current records and data using Edgenuity System, School dex, and additional systems as necessary 5. *Maintain and track youth participants attendance hours. 6. *Communicate routinely with designated personnel in education, behavioral health, social support, and career service agencies. 7. *Provide weekly lab enrollment and attendance reports to Grad Solutions 8. *Develop specific presentations regarding Grad Solutions services/ Goodwill youth programming  9. *Attend all community outreach events and networking activities deemed appropriate by Academic Coordinator and Reengagement Supervisor. 10. *Monitor and maintain current GED and TABE curriculum and testing procedures current  11. * Provides marketing (videos, recordings, etc.) and communication materials to Marketing Department.   12. Attend all required meetings as deemed appropriate by Academic Coordinator. 13. Coordinate with other Goodwill staff assigned to the participants’ success plan. Ensure participant is meeting the minimum requirements for their respective Goodwill programs 14. Input daily attendance notes in school dex data system 15. Complete reports and all appropriate paperwork in an accurate and timely manner 16. Proactively identify and address potential problems and/or negative behaviors before they impact other participants 17. Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety, at all times  18. Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding Goodwill and persons receiving services 19. Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor of Art in social work or education, or related field required, preferred 2.Minimum of 2 years’ experience serving at-risk youth preferred 3. Excellent oral and written communication skills 4.Computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet Research 5. Must have a valid Arizona driver license and auto insurance, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record 6. Must successfully complete within 90 days of employment and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications 7. Establish and maintain a fingerprint clearance to provide services to youth 8. Work with minimum supervision and maintain effective working relationships with all individuals 9. Demonstrated ability to use a data management system, and use data to make decisions. 10. Demonstrated knowledge of mandatory reporting laws, FERPA, HIPAA, ADA, and other federal and state policy relevant to youth protections/well-being. 11. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize a caseload of youth. This position is subject to a background check for any convictions directly related to its duties and responsibilities.
