Description YOUTH PASTOR/ LEADER – Part-Time (25 hours/week) // CROSSROADS CHURCH The Youth Pastor (licensed) /Leader (unlicensed) is a dynamic, relational role for a leader with a deep passion for investing in the next generation. This role builds and sustains a thriving student ministry on their campus – cultivating a culture where students are known, discipled, and empowered to grow in their faith. Central to this role is recruiting, developing, and caring for volunteer leaders who walk alongside students in authentic relationships. The Youth Pastor/Leader takes full ownership of Wednesday night programming while actively engaging students, volunteers, and families beyond the church walls – and building intentional partnerships with local schools and community organizations. As a contributing member of both the campus and central CR Youth teams, this role requires strong leadership, a shepherd's heart, and a conviction that the next generation is worth every investment. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Oversight Oversee all CR Youth ministry operations at the assigned campus. Lead mid-week services, special events, and volunteer team meetings. Plan and schedule programming in advance to ensure consistency and preparedness. Ensure youth services are developmentally appropriate, biblically sound and effectively delivered. Volunteer Leadership & Development Recruit, equip, and train volunteers aligned with CR Youth’s mission and values utilizing Multiplication Effect. Provide consistent support and coaching through one-on-ones and team gatherings. Assign volunteers based on their unique gifts and support them in their roles. Student Engagement & Discipleship Build meaningful relationships with students during weekly gatherings and beyond. Support follow-up and integration of new students into small groups. Engage families and attend student events to foster holistic discipleship. Wednesday Night Programming Plan and execute weekly youth services, ensuring all elements run smoothly. Communicate clearly with volunteers and update Planning Center with service details. Lead pre- and post-service procedures, including setup, leader meetings, and clean-up. Community & School Outreach Cultivate relationships with local schools and be present when possible. Represent CR Youth in the broader community to increase visibility. Strategically use outreach budget to support local school initiatives. Campus Responsibilities Participate fully as a pastor/leader at the campus, in staff meetings, events and weekend services. Be a visible pastoral presence within the community, providing care as opportunities arise. Central Team Responsibilities Actively participate in weekly Youth Team meetings and central events. Contribute to youth retreats, teaching series, and curriculum development. Preach during services or events as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS Education 4-year bachelor's degree in a related field or experience in Youth ministry is preferred. Pastoral licensure required for pastoral title. Qualifications Strong passion for youth discipleship and a long-term ministry mindset. Skilled in volunteer leadership, communication, and organization. Comfortable working evenings/weekends and engaging students on and off stage. Awareness of and agreement with the ECC (Evangelical Covenant Church) theology and practice. Bonus Qualifications Familiar with Planning Center, ProPresenter, and team management tools. Creative, fun, and energized by leading with excellence. Environment Primarily indoors with occasional travel for events. Will require flexibility for extra hours during key seasons of ministry. Regular work schedule is Sunday through Thursday, with occasional Friday and Saturday responsibilities for ministry events and special programming. Physical Requirements Ability to assist with ministry setup, teardown, and transportation of ministry equipment and supplies.
