Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a Youth Program and Resource Officer to join our Youth Services team. As our new Youth Program and Resource Officer you will make a difference daily by overseeing and implementing programs and activities to engage and support young people, as well as having responsibility for activation of the Knox Youth Hive within the Knox Library. This is a brand new role within the Youth Services team that will report directly to the Coordinator Youth Services and will work collaboratively with the team, across Council and the community.
This is a part time 0.8FTE permanent role based at Wantirna South. We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.
This is a Band 5 classified role. Remuneration will be $78,036.84 to $90,793.94 (depending on experience) (pro-rata for part time) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
The key selection criteria for this role are:
- A high level of administrative, analytical and conceptual skills and experience in applying them in service planning and preparation of plans, reports and policy.
- Effective coordination, planning, development and operation of the Youth Hive.
- Effective development and delivery of information to young people, parents and workers with youth.
- Exceptional communication skills in dealing with and motivating a wide range of people including colleagues and young people.
- Knowledge, skills and experience in leading and supervising students and volunteers.
- Degree or tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Community Work, Public Health, Social Sciences or related field, combined with relevant experience.
- Experience within the youth and family sector
