JOB INFORMATION

Job Title: Youth Program Manager
Reports to: Manager, Recreational Programs
Work Type: Permanent, Full Time, 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
Start Date: May 05, 2025
Closing Date: 11:59 pm PST, April 06, 2025 (If the position is not filled the competition will remain open until a candidate has been selected)
Salary: $55,000 per annum

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in youth program management, volleyball coaching, or a related field.
  • Must be able to regularly work evenings and weekends at various locations around the Lower Mainland & Fraser Valley;
  • Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful youth programs;
  • Knowledge of volleyball coaching principles and Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) framework;
  • Proficiency in registration system software and digital communication tools;
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, and logistics;
  • Experience working with diverse communities and promoting inclusion in sports is an asset.
  1. Training and Experience:
  • Completion of a two year post-secondary recreation program or an equivalent combination of training and experience in a relevant field (i.e. sport management, sport administration, kinesiology, physical education etc);
Responsibilities

1. DUTIES

  • Plan, implement, and deliver engaging youth volleyball programs (ages 8-18) that promote skill development, participation, and a positive learning environment.
  • Develop seasonal schedules for programs, clinics, camps, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Align programs with the youth volleyball system in British Columbia and Volleyball Canada’s long-term
  • athlete development principles.
  • Evaluate program success through feedback and skill development metrics.
  • Recruit and train coaches ensuring alignment with Volleyball BC coaching standards.
  • Provide ongoing support, professional development, and training workshops for coaching staff.
  • Oversee equipment management, ensuring resources are available and maintained.
  • Provide on-site and remote leadership for programs, resolving logistical challenges and ensuring smooth
  • operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for program participants, parents, coaches, and staff, ensuring clear
  • communication and program updates.
  • Address and resolve concerns professionally, fostering positive relationships with participants and
  • parents.
  • Manage program budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and resource efficiency.
