Position Summary Blackhawk Country Club is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and responsible Youth Recreation Coordinator to work within our vibrant children's recreation room and family-focused programming. This dynamic space is a hub for our junior members, offering structured drop-off hours, engaging weekend activities, and themed seasonal events—all while giving parents the opportunity to enjoy club amenities. The ideal candidate is passionate about child enrichment, excels in creating fun and safe environments, and thrives in age-appropriate experiences that spark joy and creativity in our youngest members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Daily Operations: Supervise and engage with children ages 4–12 during designated drop-off programming hours. Ensure all safety, cleanliness, and behavior standards are upheld. Lead games, crafts, movie hours, and other daily programming. Manage sign-in/out procedures and ensure accurate attendance tracking. Event & Program Coordination: Assist in the execution of all Club family events including seasonal parties, movie nights, and holiday-themed programs. Work monthly themed programming that aligns with member interests and seasonal Club happenings. Serve as a party host for birthday rentals of Brody’s Nest, including setup, activity coordination, guest assistance, and cleanup. Support the Director of Member Engagement with program logistics, communication, and execution. Communication & Administration: Communicate professionally with parents and members about programming, expectations, and updates. Maintain participant records, registration logs, allergy alerts, and authorized release info. Team & Club Support: Participate in ongoing staff training and contribute to a positive team culture. Support the Director of Member Engagement in other related club programming as needed. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Minimum 2 years of experience working with children in a recreational environment, camp, or youth education setting. CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire). Comfortable operating POS systems and handling transactions. Friendly, professional demeanor with a passion for hospitality and family service. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Must be able to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and all Club family events as part of the core schedule. Ability to lift 25 lbs, move quickly in an active environment, and lead physical activities. WORK ENVIRONMENT Indoor/Outdoor Setting Temperature: The work environment may vary in temperature, depending on the location and season. It may include both heated and air-conditioned areas. Noise Level: The work environment can be fast-paced and may involve moderate to high levels of noise from children, games, music, movies, or more. Pressure: The role often involves working under pressure, especially during peek shift hours with the children. Interaction: Regular interaction with staff, guests, vendors, and other department heads is common, requiring effective communication, interpersonal skills, and diplomacy.
