POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Youth Specialist is a temporary, full-time, grant-funded position reporting to the NVEF Director of Programs and the NVUSD Coordinator of Student Wellness & Support. This staff member will be co-located at Valley Oak High School and within the community to expand and support wellness programming. Day-to-day duties will be directed by the on-site Social Worker. The Youth Specialist will play a key role in addressing the school’s wellness needs and supporting career readiness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in program areas that relate to education, health, and nonprofits is preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, economic, educational, age, and gender backgrounds is desired.
  • An Associates Degree is preferred but not required, with a Career path that includes mental health, career readiness support, or working with youth.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, problem-solving, time management, organizational, multi-tasking, meeting facilitation, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google and other software applications.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed for school or NVEF events, including evenings or weekends. Self-starter; able to multitask while also being highly detail-oriented.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the NVEF mission.
    Clear fingerprints, a clean driving record and access to a reliable vehicle are required.
