Job Details Job Location: Vassar, MI 48788 Salary Range: $22.50 Hourly The mission of the Youth Specialist Supervisor is “Helping Children & Families to be Victors.” RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise assigned Youth Specialists Supervises all Youth Specialists on their shift, by providing direction, guidance, and implementation of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Cognitive Behavioral Theory interventions with clients Implement daily schedules and ensure Youth Specialist treatment teams are complying Coordinate with Staff Development Team to ensure training and development requirements are met Maintain control and security of the facility, while applying Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions to various client circumstances Observe behavior and maintain control of a group Respond to various crisis situations appropriate to defined treatment plans of clients and families, role modeling the use of client-centered interventions Facilitate scheduled group meetings with clients Facilitate Level Promotion Review Board meetings and ensure clients are participating as required to advance in the program Communicate significant information to treatment team members through written and verbal communication Participate in clinical staff meetings for assigned clients and ensure that all treatment plans and activities are implemented Review unit logs, medical waivers, incident reports, and other internal communications regarding assigned clients and groups at the beginning of each shift, ensuring that all documentation of activities and behavior of clients is complete and timely Complete weekly case summaries for each assigned client Provide coverage of shifts and responsibilities of assigned staff Conduct scheduled team meetings with assigned staff Dispense medication to clients and maintain records, as indicated by their physician Review site and unit logs, medical waivers, incident reports and other internal communications Communicate significant information to treatment team members through written and verbal communication Attend team meetings to review and update individual client and group objectives, as scheduled by site management Review and approve Incident Reports Demonstrate proficiency in WHS technology platforms and applications Participate/attend and complete all required contractual, licensing and agency training successfully Function as a mandated reporter, as required by Michigan Child Protection Law Attend all required meetings Other duties, as assigned USUAL TIME INVOLVEMENT Full Time; This is a nonexempt position. REPORTS TO Lead Supervisor DIRECT REPORTS Youth Specialists as assigned Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors’ degree and 2 years’ experience in a child caring institution (CCI) is preferred or 2 years of college and 3 years’ experience in a CCI or a high school diploma and 4 years’ experience in a CCI required Demonstrate proficiency in WHS technology platforms and applications Level 1 Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) endorsement for basic core skills Completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) seminar provided by the agency, with the physical ability to apply and perform CPI techniques American Red Cross CPR and First Aid Certification Valid Michigan driver and chauffeur license or ability to obtain chauffeur license
