As a Youth Support Partner in the Thompson Placement Stability Unit (TPSU) department, you will provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, behavior modification techniques, and mentorship to unstable/high need youth in out-of-home care. This consists of developing goals to increase stabilizing behavior; meetings face to face with your multiple times a week and documenting services. A typical day as a Youth Support Partner will include managing crises, providing motivational interviewing, mentorship, and transportation. As a Youth Partner, a large amount of time is spent face-to-face with high need teenagers, work hours vary based on client need, and the schedule includes an on-call schedule for after-hour coverage (nights/weekends).
