Get discounts on private health insurance, gym memberships and travel and so much more Recognition Programs – If you thrive in an environment where we value recognition and rewarding employees on achievements, we take are acknowledged Your Role as Youth Vocational Specialist The Youth Vocational Specialist supports young people through the headspace Work and Study (IPS) program, helping them overcome mental health and wellbeing challenges to achieve employment, education, or training goals. Working as part of the Hervey Bay multidisciplinary team and with community partners, the role provides mentoring, ongoing support, and guidance across Hervey Bay and Maryborough, including outreach in the community. The position also ensures accurate data collection and reporting to track the program’s impact. Key responsibilities include: Work in line with Wesley Mission Queensland’s values, Model of Care, and Charter. Support young people with mental health challenges to transition into employment or education, including managing caseloads and liaising with clinical teams, families, support networks, and employers. Develop tailored employment transition plans that address barriers and align with individual skills, interests, and experience. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and effective referral pathways. Maintain accurate data, records, and reporting in line with program, organisational, and IPS standards. Contribute to quality improvement, program development, and use of evidence-based practices to ensure positive outcomes. What We’re Looking For Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in vocational services. Strong problem-solving, time management, and task prioritisation skills. Experience in accurate data collection, compliance monitoring, and report writing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage young people and stakeholders. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer applications. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and collaboratively achieve outcomes. Commitment to privacy, confidentiality, and relevant legislation. A Valuable Addition, Yet Not a Must-Have! Proven experience supporting young people with mental health challenges to achieve positive outcomes. Strong partnership-building and negotiation skills with service providers, stakeholders, and employers.
