PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As a Youth Worker at Rees Foundation, you will play a key role in supporting care-experienced young people to build resilience, develop life skills, and feel connected. You’ll deliver individual and group-based support, co-create opportunities with young people, and act as a trusted adult in their lives — someone who listens, encourages, and empowers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build meaningful, trusted relationships with care-experienced people, predominately under 25 years.
  • Encouraging older care experienced people to link in and support younger care experienced.
  • Provide and facilitating group sessions to discuss wellbeing, independence, and personal development.
  • Plan and deliver group activities, workshops, and events that promote connection, learning, and fun.
  • Support young people to access services, opportunities, and resources — including education, training, housing, mental health, and employment.
  • Advocate for young people’s rights and ensure their voices are heard.
  • Work collaboratively with other Rees staff, local authorities, and external agencies to create strong support networks.
  • Record and monitor support sessions and outcomes using appropriate systems and tools.
  • Contribute to safeguarding procedures, ensuring young people’s safety and wellbeing at all times.
  • Attend team meetings, training, and reflective practice sessions as required.
