Position Overview:

As a Casual Residential Youth Worker, you’ll play a vital role in supporting children and young people living in out-of-home care. You’ll help create a safe, stable, and nurturing environment while supporting young people to build life skills, resilience, and positive connections. With rosters planned in advance, you’ll enjoy flexibility and greater work-life balance, with opportunities for consistent ongoing shifts as well as emergency and ad hoc work.


Responsibilities:

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
  • Create a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment
  • Support daily living tasks including meals, personal care, hygiene, and routines
  • Encourage independence, emotional regulation, and social development
  • Assist with school attendance, appointments, and community participation
  • Administer medication and maintain accurate case notes/documentation
  • Support complex behaviours using trauma-informed practices and TCI strategies
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and care plans
  • Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and reflective practice

We’re Looking For

To be considered for this Youth Worker role, you’ll need to have (or be open to obtaining) the following:

  • Hold (or be studying towards) a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, Disability Support Work or similar Community Services industry
  • Australian Drivers License (OPEN)
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
  • Current First Aid & CPR certificate
  • Police Check
