We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Youth Worker who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness, and empowerment to our clients, families, and each other.
The Youth Worker is an integral part of the Wesley Youth Housing Family. With youth engagement, safety, programming, and wellness on the brain, youth workers support young people, and the team ensures that youth are reaching their full potential and have access to all necessary supports and resources!
This position is a unionized, full-time, temporary position ending December 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension. The schedule is Wednesday-Sunday, 11 pm – 7 am (Overnight shifts). The rate of pay for this position is $20.50 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Establish a positive rapport with youth by being friendly, non-judgmental, non-intrusive, and approachable.
  • Oversee the 19-unit program and residents, handling issues that may arise.
  • Engage youth in a meaningful way providing Counseling, Case Management services, information, support and advocacy.
  • Ensure safety of team and safety of all program participants, including the entry to program.
  • Facilitate and/or organize groups for youth
  • Complete household cleaning responsibilities as required.
  • Participate in staff development and team meetings
  • Complete statistics, client files, daily log, and other administrative documentation, as required.
  • Maintain an awareness of other social service agencies in the Hamilton Region and a working knowledge of the legislation that affects the target population of the program.
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate case co-ordination is offered and that accurate/updated client files are maintained, and that challenging cases/concerns are raised at unit meetings, with the Manager and/or with case conferencing, always with appropriate disclosures on file and legislation adhered to.
