Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe z/OS Systems Manager with minimum of 7 years of experience in z/OS Administration with an overall technology experience of 10 plus years to oversee a Global engineering team responsible for maintaining the very large z/OS mainframe environment, including installing, configuring, and troubleshooting the hardware components, operating system and related software with the goal of ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the mainframe infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of z/OS System Programmers.
Oversee the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of z/OS and other mainframe software. Including extensive experience with the IBM Security Portal and Vulnerability management
Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize performance.
Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, including software errors, hardware failures, and system crashes.
Implement and maintain comprehensive security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data and system integrity.
Plan for future system needs and ensure adequate resources are available to meet business requirements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Work with other IT teams, such as application support, database administration, and network engineering.
Expert level familiarity with disaster recovery solution, and specifically GDPS technology.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Skills and Qualifications:
Deep understanding of z/OS operating system, including SYSPLEX implementation, SMP/E, z/OSMF, and other related tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
Proven leadership experience, including managing, mentoring, and developing a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with other teams.
Familiarity with mainframe hardware and software, including UNIX Systems Services under z/OS.
