About the Role As a Zero Harm Manager you will actively partner with Downers Energy & Utilities business unit. The successful candidate will engage with the Power Projects operational team to lead Zero Harm behaviours, enabling the conditions for our teams to thrive whilst performing successfully without harm to the people, communities or environment in which we work. This dynamic role will involve exposure to a mix of disciplines with a focus on bringing people together to ensure we achieve our Work Health, Safety and Environment objectives whilst contributing to the innovation of the business. Some key responsibilities include: Deliver the project’s HSE strategy aligned to Downer E&U and client requirements Act as trusted advisor to the Project Director and senior leadership team Lead a high performing HSE team onsite and across project packages Lead Project-wide safety culture, behaviours, and critical risk management Lead Contractor and supply-chain safety performance across complex interfaces Work collaboratively to build excellent stakeholder relationships, providing insightful, and trusted advice to a diverse range of business managers and employees Provide technical advice and support to Line Management in the identification, assessment, and control of workplace risks Demonstrate leadership behaviours that inspire others, set expectations and role model About You 15+ years HSE leadership in major projects or high-risk industries Proven capability leading HSE on large scale infrastructure or utilities programs Deep understanding of critical risk, investigations, and Safety in Design Ability to influence senior leaders and drive behavioral change Strong people leadership with experience building capability in complex environments Ability to travel as per business requirements ICAM investigation skills and competency Injury Management and Workers Compensation experience An in depth understanding and a working knowledge of WHS practices and current legislation What We Offer Shape and embed a best practice HSE culture Lead a flagship project with national significance Work within a supportive, expert E&U HSE network We are a Tier 1 ASX listed company with in-house capabilities that far exceed traditional contractor environments Opportunity to innovate and drive industry leading safety outcomes Employee benefits including health and wellness initiatives Management support coupled with ongoing training and mentoring Career enhancing opportunity to work within an ASX limited company About Energy & Utilities Downer's Energy & Utilities business unit is an integrated trans-Tasman team, providing services and solutions that connect communities to essential networks and infrastructure.
