Zingerman’s Bakehouse is looking for a full-time bread baker to join our team!

Responsibilities
  • Work quickly and with a sense of urgency at all times
  • Multi-tasking
  • Accurately scale dough
  • Hand-shape multiple types of dough
  • Must work well with others in a team environment
  • Must be able to self manage and work independently, with little direction for periods of time
  • Arrives on time to all shifts
  • Prepares ingredients and does set-up work - setting up boards screens, pans, and other
  • equipment in preparation for making each type of bread
  • Mixes dough for baking
  • Loads and unloads bread in the ovens
  • Monitors the proofing and baking of the breads
  • Works safely around hot ovens, heavy equipment, and sharp utensils
  • Cleaning; including 2 hours or more of dishes and clean-up using industrial dishwashing
  • machines as well as by hand
  • Keeps a clean and sanitary work area
  • Completes basic orientation training passport within 90 days of hire
  • Attends and participate in Bread department and Bakehouse all-staff huddles
  • Willingness to be flexible with schedule
  • Able to follow through with verbal instructions
