REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

• Trade qualified Electrician with a current NSW Supervisors certificate
• Advanced Diploma in ESI Power System with preferred electives in Testing Systems or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
• Drivers Licence
• WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Cert
• Installing, commissioning, and testing associated HV transmission equipment.
• Maintaining and commissioning network protection and control systems
• Carrying out switching operations associated with Zone Substations, underground and Overhead networkAccessing, using, and analysing computerised systems to operate remote equipment

We are currently recruiting a trade qualified and experienced Electrician for our Zone Substation Specialist Electrical Technician role This role will work within our Transmission Mid North Coast team and you can be based in either Taree or Port Macquarie .
The Zone Substation Specialist Electrical Technician will be exposed to and be responsible for the coordination / management of construction, installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of Zone substations and associated equipment.
You will interrogate and analyse systems, operate remote equipment, carry out switching operations and prepare reports regarding the nature and condition of Network assets.
This role will also be responsible for coordinating the development of business strategies, planning, budget, forecasting and policy development.

Key responsibilities

• Construction and maintenance of Zone Substations
• Installation, commissioning and testing of associated Zone Substation equipment
• Maintain and commission network protection and control systems (Intermediate and Complex)
• Inspect, test, analyse and prepare reports regarding the nature and condition of Network assets to maintain quality standards
• Access, use and analyse computerised systems to operate remote equipment
• Be available for and participate in stand by and after hours duties
• Carrying out switching operations associated with both high and low voltage Engineering Services

• Operate plant and equipment associated with Zone Substations in a safe mannerCoordinate the development of business strategies, planning, budget forecasting and policy development
