Description The Virginia Zoo is looking to welcome new team members to join our Guest Services department for this season! We are looking for energetic, customer service focused individuals who want to deliver memorable and positive guest experience to the visitors of the Virginia Zoo. Zoo Ambassadors provide a positive guest experience by greeting guests while selling admissions tickets, market the value and benefits of our membership program, provide outstanding customer service to all Zoo guests and assist with the successful execution of a variety of events at the Zoo. This is a seasonal part-time, non-exempt role. Weekends & some evenings required. The Virginia Zoo business hours are from 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM, but may be open later for events. Duties/Responsibilities: Greet and interact with guests. Answer on-site guest questions and resolve guest issues. Accurately process monetary transactions and adhere to all cash handling policies. Introduce non-members to the Zoo Membership program highlighting benefits and value. Process admission tickets, membership enrollments/renewals/gifts through CRM point of sale system. Maintain and update membership database ensuring accuracy. Provide excellent guest experience by answering incoming phone calls, returning voicemails, and redirecting calls to the proper department when necessary. Supports events by staffing check ins, membership sales, and maintaining lines. Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized membership office. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment. Education and Experience: At least 1 year of customer service experience preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds capacity at times. Additional Requirements Must be confident, energetic, and self-motivated with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service. Ability to maintain a professional appearance and manner.
