Description OVERVIEW: The Shipping & Receiving Lead is responsible for coordinating and executing daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company standards. This role serves as a working lead, providing hands-on support while ensuring shipments are received, documented, staged, and shipped correctly, safely, and on time. The Shipping & Receiving Lead plays a critical role in inventory accuracy, customer satisfaction, and warehouse safety by maintaining records, verifying product movement, and supporting continuous improvement across warehouse operations. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS: Verify incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing identifying information, counts, weights, and measurements against bills of lading, invoices, and shipping documentation. Prepare outbound shipments by labeling, packaging, and verifying accuracy prior to shipment. Inspect incoming shipments for damage or shortages and communicate discrepancies promptly to supervisors and appropriate departments. Examine outgoing shipments to ensure product, quantity, and packaging meet specifications and customer requirements. Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, damage claims, and shipment records. Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, including returns, pallets, and damaged goods. Monitor and maintain inventory of shipping supplies and materials. Enter and maintain shipment data in inventory and order processing systems to support accurate billing and reporting. Support traceability and documentation requirements in coordination with Operations and Quality teams. Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment. Load and unload trucks, trailers, and storage areas while following safety and operational procedures. Assemble shipping containers as needed and ensure proper packaging for product protections. Follow all safety, security, and warehouse procedures, including proper use of equipment and PPE. Promote a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. Support training of new team members on shipping, receiving, and safety procedures. Communicate issues, delays, or risks to supervisors in a timely and professional manner. Perform other duties as assigned.
