Position Summary We are seeking a Medical Assistant to support our providers at our Rockville clinic. This role involves a combination of administrative and clinical responsibilities to help ensure seamless patient care and efficient daily operations. The schedule for this position is Monday 7:15 AM - 2:15 PM, and Tuesday - Friday 7:15 AM - 4:00 PM. Key Responsibilities Compile and maintain patient records, medical charts, and documentation Schedule appointments for physical exams and chronic disease management Process prior authorizations and referrals, and respond to inquiries from patients and providers Track and link diagnostic imaging (DI) with provider orders Confirm patient insurance for billable lab services Take and document patient vitals, screenings, and health logs Prepare, clean, and restock exam rooms Operate equipment (EKG, X-ray, etc.) and assist with diagnostic testing Administer injections and perform routine lab tests Support PCMH and quality initiatives Cover staff absences and assist team members as needed Interpret instructions, communicate clearly, and solve routine problems Physical Requirements Frequently required to sit, communicate verbally, use hands for various tasks, and actively listen Occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift/move up to 10 lbs. Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant Completion of a certified Medical Assistant training program Current (not expired) CCMA, CMA, or RMA certification Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Current BLS or CPR certification Preferred Qualifications Primary Care and/or Internal Medicine experience Experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW) and Athena Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Awareness of population health Medical Clearance Must meet CPC’s medical clearance requirements, including documentation for: Hepatitis B vaccination Pneumococcal screening Tuberculosis screening Approved religious or medical accommodation may be considered.
