Description Summary The National Corn Growers Association seeks a Manager of Membership Communications. The role is responsible for supporting the work of communications and membership functions of the Communications, Membership, and Investor Relations Department. The person who fills the role will be responsible for providing robust communications and membership support for the organization and its state affiliates. Reports to: NCGA Director, Investor Relations and Communications Requirements Duties and Responsibilities Provide State Services Develop custom communications outputs for NCGA’s state affiliates proactively and by request. Assist in developing annual goals and a strategic workplan for membership communications. Assist in planning and preparation for membership and communications events, including recurring calls and annual membership and communications meeting. Provide state registration support for Commodity Classic. Assist Affiliate States with Membership Needs Analyze NCGA membership trends and develop and implement communications strategies in collaboration with state partners. Provide support for NCGA’s membership database and state needs. Support NCGA Communications Manage and maintain NCGA’s editorial calendar. Write and edit news articles/releases, editorials, background papers, one-pagers, and other materials as needed. Draft and disseminate weekly NCGA’s Corn Action News email to members. Disseminate press releases and other public-facing materials via Constant Contact. Provide support for NCGA’s social media channels. Produce monthly content for NCGA’s podcast. Support development of NCGA’s booth at Commodity Classic. Qualifications and Skills Ability to build relationships with and become a resource for corn grower members as well as state and national staff. Strong public relations and writing skills, with knowledge of agriculture. Command of AP Style a plus Basic design skills and experience with design programs, including Adobe Suite, Canva, etc. Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Experience using Salesforce CRM software preferred. Experience using Constant Contact preferred. Able to take initiative and drive projects from concept through implementation and evaluation. Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-building approach. Ability and willingness to travel. Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or public relations and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience. Agriculture and/or association communications experience is strongly preferred. Travel Requires travel (20%). Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
