University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to help support their Gynecology Specialties team at Magee Women's Hospital! Hours: Monday-Friday, daylight hours from 8:00am to 6:00pm. No evenings, weekends, or holidays. No On-Call. Location: UPMC Magee Women's Hospital - 300 Halket St., Pittsburgh, PA 15213 Position Specifics: As this position is in Gyne Specialties, the APP’s are expected to already be experienced in women’s health (pelvic exams, IUD’s, endometrial biopsies, some microscopy), however the 3+ month orientation period is tailored to the identified learning needs of the APP, as well as shadowing all the current APP’s and physicians in the department to develop expert level care for these complicated patients. Department Details: Gyne Specialties has 7 APP positions including one supervising APP. The APP in this role bills independently for office visits and in-clinic procedures, including IUD insertions/removals and endometrial biopsies. Additionally, they enhance physician productivity by conducting initial assessments and identifying surgical candidates, streamlining the care pathway. This position also supports virtual care visits (VCC), particularly within the Endometriosis Center. By conducting comprehensive histories during virtual visits, the APP enables more efficient and focused in-person follow-ups with the physician. Currently, the Endometriosis and FTC VCC has a 6 week wait time, with an average of 33 appointment slots per month between the two APPs.
