WIENERBERGER’S BIODIVERSITY PROGRAM

In 2023, wienerberger completed the development of Biodiversity Action Plans at over 200 production sites in Europe, North America and India. These plans involve a six-step process: mapping terrain elements, assessing existing green infrastructure, identifying biodiversity potential, obtaining management approval, implementing measures, and monitoring effectiveness.
Employees are actively involved in implementing and monitoring biodiversity measures, fostering a company-wide culture of environmental stewardship. Roles such as biodiversity ambassadors have been established at each site to lead these efforts.

Your Tasks

• Collect, process, and analyze biodiversity data from 200 locations, with a focus on fauna monitoring.
• Use R for statistical analysis and visualization of ecological data.
• Adapt and update biodiversity maps using GIS tools.
• Conduct data quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Support reporting processes by compiling key findings and insights.
• Assist in managing and organizing databases.

Your Profile

• Completed or ongoing Master’s degree in environmental sciences, ecology, biodiversity, geography, or a related field.
• Experience with QGIS and R for spatial analysis and data processing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data management and reporting.
• Strong understanding of biodiversity and ecology concepts.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and data quality.
• Motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Good teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with different stakeholders.
