POSITION SUMMARY

The Investment Accounting Manager works as part of the finance and accounting team and is primarily responsible for accounting of loans, securities and equity investments in our investment portfolio held through Special Purpose Entities or Joint Ventures. The Accounting Manager should be a detail-oriented self-starter with a good understanding of fund accounting.

Required Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance, CPA preferred
• 8+ years general accounting experience, preferably in Mortgage Industry.
• Experience in Special Purpose Entity, Joint Venture accounting and reporting will be a plus.

• Perform daily and monthly bank account and general ledger account reconciliations for asset portfolios.
• Review Capital Calls for the Special Purpose Entities and make appropriate entries in accounting general ledger.
• Validate daily and monthly transactional data and reporting generated from our systems against supporting documentation and cash movement, to include trade and remittance data, cash journal entries and aged receivables.
• Work closely with Capital Markets group in maintaining schedule of investor capital contributions, calculate periodic distributions as defined by operating agreements.
• Should be able to understand terms in LLC/Partnership agreement and track key provisions impacting economics of Special Purpose entities.
• Update month-end and quarter-end internal and external reporting files.
• Review and oversee work of Staff Accountants as required.
• Run effective yield models and analyze results for securities portfolio.
• Provide documentation to internal audit group and external audit firms as needed.
• Document desk level procedures for new processes, as necessary.
• Provide backup for other loan accounting processes on a need basis.

A reasonable estimate of the total compensation range for this role is $110,000 - $125,000. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors.
