Russell Meadows Retirement Community is a retirement home dedicated to providing high-quality care to seniors in a compassionate and supportive environment.
We are seeking a dependable team member to join us in maintaining our residence. In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks to ensure that our building remains clean, safe, sanitary, and fully functional for our residents and staff.
Full time position available.
Duties:
Monitoring and maintaining the building’s preventative maintenance program;
Reporting and addressing maintenance or repair needs to the general manager;
Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs to equipment as well as mechanical plumbing. electricity and HVAC;
Follow Health and Safety regulations including wearing approved protective equipment;
Maintenance of records, statistics and reports in accordance with home policies and all applicable legislation standards;
Suites readiness and moving of furniture;
Responding to emergencies;
Refer problems requiring specialized work to outside contractors and monitor work performed and obtain approval to do such;
Supervision of an assistant;
Maintain grounds including garden and yard upkeep, trimming, mowing lawn, collecting trash;
Perform snow clearing duties in the winter;
Perform necessary cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping, trash removal, sanitization, carpet cleaning;
Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, painting, repair works;
Handle errands and day to day tasks for the organization;
Properly disposing of waste and restocking cleaning supplies;
Other duties as required.
Requirements:

Ability to meet physical and safety requirements: standing for long periods, bending lifting , etc.
Available to work in the winter when there is snow or ice events
Able to pass pre-employment criminal record, Vulnerable Sector Check
Previous experience in maintenance in a retirement home or long term care home setting is an added advantage
A valid drivers license is required
Must have reliable transportation
Available to start within the next 2 or 3 weeks.
Ability to communicate in English
Available to work on the weekends, during snow events and/or emergencies
Pay based on experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
