ABOUT YOU
Ideally you will be qualified to Level 5 CIPD, or have recent equivalent experience in a similar role, including a good practical knowledge and understanding of the core HR activities and current employment law, as well as first-class interpersonal and listening skills.
In addition, you will be a team player who is prepared to support where needed, an excellent communicator with a track record of building relationships, delivery of timely and accurate HR solutions and the proven ability to act on your own initiative.
You will also share the Council’s values and commit to our agreed purpose: To provide a professional, proactive, and efficient HR and payroll service. To be ambassadors for, and to make a positive contribution to, the Council by enabling everyone to be equipped with the skills and experience needed to be the best they can be.

Reporting to the HR Manager, the successful applicant will be required to provide high quality, professional and proactive advice on all HR related matters. This will include case management – some of which may be complex, recruitment and selection, change management, absence management, discipline, grievance, restructuring, job design, job evaluation and grading as well as reviewing and updating polices, general policy advice and delivery of training.
You will also be responsible for the line management of one of the HR administrators.
