In this role, you are located at the crossroads of Oura Manufacturing, R&D, and Supply Chain. You will work alongside our design teams and process engineers, facilitating the development and eventual ramp of accessory and charging NPI programs, supporting the mission critical goal of developing high quality components and assemblies which are both manufacturable and scalable. You will champion the user experience by ensuring every ring shipped meets our rigorous standards for health accuracy and jewelry-like craftsmanship. This candidate will support quality deliverables and DRIs across our accessories and charging portfolio. Job requirements include setting up quality systems at contract manufacturers (CMs) to ensure good data is collected and analyzed for program critical decision making as well as creating long term strategies to help continuously improve the Oura Supply Chain. You will plan, develop and implement measurement methods, control plans, and other quality processes to help ensure the part and product quality - all the way from concept phase through high volume mass production in a complex, global scale supply chain. You will be a liaison between the CMs and designers, championing a culture of quality on behalf of Oura and our customers. You'll collaborate closely with our operations team and program managers to plan and execute each NPI build, while also shaping and refining both the process and the product. A strong background in manufacturing processes and design for manufacturing (DFM) is essential for success in this role. This is a US Hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with an in-office requirement of three days per week. What you will do: Support New Product Introduction (NPI) through development builds, ramp-up, mass production, and steady state expansion efforts Serve as the bridge between Design, Engineering, and Operations, translating complex technical risks into actionable business decisions to drive Oura’s quality initiatives Analyze build failure data to identify design and process marginalities, ensuring that yield loss is understood from a quality risk perspective, not just a volume perspective Lead build readiness reviews, focusing on quality deliverables such as equipment readiness, process qualification, and post-build quality data analysis to understand system level interactions and assembly tolerance stackups that drive design and process improvements Establish and enforce the standard for “premium” quality by defining cosmetic specifications, managing golden/limit samples, and aligning design, engineering, and factory teams on subjective criteria (fit, finish, and feel) early in the NPI process. Identify and effectively communicate design and process risks, using data-driven approaches to facilitate discussions and improvements across Oura teams and suppliers Analyze and evaluate data to establish appropriate sub-assembly / system level spec limits including cosmetic, dimensional, functional/reliability as well as establish process controls limits Validate that CM processes produce units that meet cosmetic, reliability, and functional design intent.
